Glocal steps

The context

Glocal Steps - We support people with a refugee background in entering the Swiss labour market.

Glocal Steps provides support to individuals with a refugee background who are seeking to enter the Swiss job market. Education and employment are essential for social participation, and vocational training provides a path to sustainable integration.

Whate we do:

Glocal Steps works with two-person mentoring, where a person with a refugee background and a volunteer meet weekly for over ten months. The volunteers act as coaches, helping with job applications, resumes, and motivation letters, and offer tips on how to approach potential employers. They also support refugees during their vocational training in school. Glocal Steps empowers people with a refugee background to become independent in mastering job application processes and vocational schools. The tandems take place in Zurich or the Zurich region at the coach’s request.

Become a coach at Glocal Steps

Would you be interested in becoming a coach for Glocal Steps? If you enjoy having personal intercultural interactions, then we might be the perfect fit for you. Our program provides the opportunity to establish a personal connection with individuals from a refugee background through tandems and make a contribution to their integration in the labour market. Additionally, you can connect with other volunteers within our community and exchange experiences. Tandems can be held in Zurich or the Zurich region (Säuliamt) based on the coach’s preference.
