Many women on the move face significant challenges in their everyday lives. Because they are responsible for their families, often lack a social network, and face discrimination in the job market, they do not have equal opportunities. All of which severely limit their participation and integration into the new society.
With our Social Factory project, we aim to empower women on the move and provide help for self-help.
We run two tailoring ateliers in Greece and Turkey, providing women on the move with formal employment and integrating them into a social network. Additionally, we support single mothers with childcare so they can focus on their work.
Through this, our tailors gain important qualifications for the job market and financial independence for themselves and their families.
In our tailoring course, women on the move learn the basics of sewing and are carefully introduced to the world of textiles. In our empowerment workshops, they also strengthen their social skills and resilience. By spending time with other participants, the women have the opportunity to build their social network and enhance their integration.
Our participants are enabled to take their first steps into the new job market and become self-sufficient for their families.
With our Social Factory, we aim to take on both social and ecological responsibility.
