WHAT IT MEANS TO VOLUNTEER WITH US

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

Child-friendly area

In our child-friendly area, equipped with arts and craft materials and toys, children can enjoy their time while their mothers take part in the services offered by our partner organizations in the Victoria Community Center. Your role will involve providing appropriate support and guidance to the women and children, fostering an environment that boosts their confidence, resilience, and self-esteem.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

textile maker space

Additionally, we have a designated textile maker space where women with refugee backgrounds can attend sewing courses, sew independently, or participate in our paid sewing project. As part of the tailor project, you will assist in preparing work for the tailors and maintaining the sewing space. This initiative aims to empower women by teaching them valuable skills, enabling them to create their own products, and potentially generating a small income for themselves.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

Other activities

Moreover, depending on your skills and the needs of the women visiting our center, you may engage in various activities. This could involve preparing creative and simple activities for the children, distributing sanitary products and diapers, and helping to clean the spaces.  If you encounter any child or adult protection concerns, you will be responsible for reporting them to the designated Protection focal points.
